The Thrilling Game on Waters- Highlights of Inter University Rowing Championship 2024

The 2024 Inter University Rowing Championship concluded on a high note, showcasing incredible talent, determination, and teamwork across multiple categories. Held at Colombo Rowing Club, the championship brought together the finest rowers from Sri Lankan universities.

The rowing competition was divided into multiple categories, based on the number of rowers and the type of boat. Common events included the 2-A, where two rowers each handle a single oar (a pair), and the IX categories, featuring larger boats with eight rowers and a coxswain steering the crew. The 4+ category involved teams of four rowers. Each category showcased different aspects of rowing, from the synchronization and stamina required in smaller boats to the power and coordination demanded in larger team events. To claim the championship, the four universities had to excel across all these categories.
